Arles, Record of the Rhône:
20 years of underwater excavations
The role of the River Rhône within the Roman Empire cannot be underestimated. Now, in collaboration with Musée d'Arles, the Musée Calvet d'Avignon and the Museo di Antichità in Turin, the Roman history of the area is brought to life through finds solely from the river. Accompanied by films of the painstaking archaeological digs in this challenging environment comes a chance to see the only bust to be identified as Julius Caesar, discovered in 2007.

Nicolaus van Leyden: New light on a 15th-century sculptor
Strangely neglected by posterity, Nicolaus van Leyden was praised
for his innovation and naturalistic carvings in his lifetime. Now however, very little is known about his career and how he made his pieces. This exhibition is one of the best chances of seeing the works of this overlooked master in context, with around 70 works in wood and stone, largely on loan from public and private collections around
the world.
