The growth of the Inca empire was staggering in its speed and extent. This exhibition looks at the ties between rulers and subjugated cultures. The story of imperial dominance is told with 60 artefacts, including clay vessels, stone works and gold and silver items.

Celebrating Roman technical innovations, this family-orientated exhibition has 35 interactive stations so that everyone can get involved. It focuses on nine different areas of technology including architecture, machines, army and travel.

Collecting! The Imperial Collection in Vienna
For centuries the Habsburgs have been famous for their staggering collection of fine art. This exhibition highlights 140 pieces across a range of media and time. Following the closure of part of the gallery for the best part of a decade this is a welcome chance to see high art rendered in shellfish pietra dure, ostrich egg and coconut, as well as gold, silver and precious stones.
